- But is it more serious? Behold, has it not been taught: These are light: positive and negative [precepts], except, 'Thou shalt not take [the name of the Lord thy God in vain];' serious: [sins for th transgression of which] kareth and death at the hands of the Beth din [are inflicted], and 'Thou shalt not take etc.'
